The Lone Parent Programme really helps, because obviously, as well as getting me into work, is also enables me to go back, and get the qualifications I needed to set up my own law insurance business, especially because of the tutors that were teaching us, they really inspired us to do what we wanted to do, and get our own businesses set up, which was amazing; and I think with the people who’s ran the Course, they were closed as friends, and you could actually communicated with them, and that’s what everybody needs, and so it really, really worked.
I am happy to say that I am still in work, and go back to college to get my BETC Fashion Diploma, so I can then go forward and set up my on plus-size laundry business, because of these guys, and I wouldn’t had the confidence to do that, if I didn’t go to the Lone Parent course, and actually really speak to them, and see the other people that they got to come in and speak to us and kind of guided us, so I am really happy about it.

I loved the team that I work with at B&Q, everyone is really fun, and I made some good friends, and even going from the front end to working nights, I still keep in communication, so I have been able to make a friendship, especially with the supervisors, and people like that whose have said; – we can see you doing this, and in this role, and the progression within this Company is really good. This is a sustainable job while I am studying, and I could definitively see myself as one of the supervisors in eight months to a year. As well as that I also, obviously, have the time to set up my business, and get myself sorted; so here is my aim of running my own Business by the time I am thirty
Leah’s Manager’s response (take-1)
She’s got that instinctive joy. She is just natural, she understands money, we picked up on it. I said; this girl is very very good.
She is a very good member of staff, a very good girl doing all work and undo it. I give her instructions to give to other staff members and she take it and put it on the shelves her self; she said … “she’s happy to do it.”
No problems with Leah, none at all. She is a good representative (of The Lone Parent Programme)
